Damaged EV Chargers – Are Your Charging Stations Compliant?

We have seen an increased demand from clients reporting damage to EV chargers. Accidents happen and aren’t always reported, whether that be broken covers, damaged barrier protection or does the surrounding groundworks needs repairing?

As electric vehicles (EVs) become more common, the importance of maintaining and inspecting your EV charging stations has never been higher.

At FPM Facility Services Ltd we’re proud to offer an inspection services for your existing EV chargers. Our team of qualified experts will thoroughly assess your charging infrastructure, checking for:

> Compliance with local regulations and industry standards
> Appropriate installation and functioning of electrical components
> Safety features like grounding, signage, and emergency stop buttons
> Any potential issues or hazards that could disrupt service

Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, EV charger maintenance inspections and testing are required to ensure safety and compliance.

Once in service and compliant we can perform regular checks at intervals of your choice over the course of the chargers life, or we can carry out a one-off inspection. Carried out by NICEIC qualified electricians we will identify faults if found and present suggestions in a EICR electrical report.
